I get my new phone tomorrow - w00t!
I'm finally free of T-Mobile and the crap-ass phone I got through them. I'm pretty excited. T-Mobile blows - bad coverage, dropped calls, message indicators that either show up late or never go away, a toggle stick that took me to random menus while I was trying to message or go through my phone book, etc. ad nauseum.
Shopping for a phone and new service is painful to me, along the lines of shopping for a new car. It's impossible to compare plans apples to apples and you'd better sure you've got the right plan because if you want any to take advantage of any type of online deal you'll be stuck with it for two years. Ugh.
Anyway, after much stressful shopping and comparing I pulled the trigger on a solid plan and got a decent phone. I wanted a QWERTY keyboard for ease in messaging along with the ability to browse the web, even though I haven't decided to add that feature at this point. OTOH, I didn't want to spend $200-$300 on a phone whose features I may or may not use regularly. I found the Kyocera Strobe. Regular phone with hidden QWERTY keyboard and all the browsing, email apps I need but after rebates, etc. it only cost me $29.99. It should be here in the morning. I'm psyched!
